This vest is the next generation of concealable anti-assault rifle body armor which combines the flexibility of Aramid and UHMWPE with the high level protection of lvl. IV plates in a form fitting, low profile setup that can be worn discretely under a normal coat or sweatshirt and still protect the wearer from armor piercing rifle rounds.
Unlike other plate carriers this vest offers discrete protection with full coverage and the combined protection of lvl. IIIA and lvl. IV armor. With the dual layers of the IIIA Aramid and UHMWPE shell and the level IV inserts the wearer is granted unparalleled ballistic protection.
The body of the vest is made of a flexible composite of Aramid and Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene with additional hard ballistic panels in discrete internal front and back carrier pouches providing enhanced coverage and protection without sacrificing comfort or concealability.
This vest combines the best of hard and soft body armor with large flexible lvl. IIIA wraparound body panels combined with additional front and back lvl. IV hard plates. The soft composite body of the vest is immune to spalling and shattering while the hard plates provide enhanced protection from rifle rounds over the wearer's vital areas.
Hard rigid armor plates are excellent at stopping bullets but offer a smaller coverage area and can be susceptible to spalling or shattering which can injure the wearer.
Soft flexible armor will not shatter or spall but offers lower levels of protection and does not reduce kinetic impact like hard armor plates will. Even if soft armor stops a bullet the remaining force can be enough to break bones or knock the wind out of the wearer, either of which can be fatal in a gunfight.
Combining the hard and soft armor this vest provides an extreme level of protection and coverage in the same size as a standard soft panel vest.
Without included additional plates this vest is rated NIJ level IIIA.
The vest is form fitting with multiple adjustment points and heavy duty Velcro straps to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.
WHAT IS ALUMINA?
Alumina is aluminum oxide, an ultra hard crystalline of oxygen and aluminum used as a substitute for synthetic diamond and in high level body armor. The dense hexagonal lattice structure of oxygen and aluminum ions, when bonded into a ceramic creates an ultra-hard armor that provides maximum level protection at a fraction of the weight of steel.
Materials like aramid and UHMWPE derive their strength from their flexibility and ability to dissipate kinetic energy along a long molecular chain, alumina defeats incoming round by sheer hardness and density. With Alumina/UHMWPE composite plates, this vest provides the protection to stop rifle rounds from penetrating, and absorb the potentially fatal impact force.
WHAT IS ARAMID?
Aramid is a term for aromatic polyamide, a class of synthetic nylon-like fibers distinctive for their dense molecular strands of linked carbon atoms and hydrogen bonds which give the fabric its tremendous strength. Aramid composites have long been a mainstay of ballistic armor due to their ability to withstand extreme temperatures and absorb kinetic energy and continue to be used today in civilian and military body and vehicle armor.
Sold under the brand names Kevlar, Nomex and Twaron, aramid composite fabrics are flexible and lightweight and provide excellent ballistic protection.
WHAT IS UHMWPE?
Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene also known as UHMWPE, High modulus polyethylene (HMPE), and by the brand names Dyneema and Spectra, is a flexible polyethylene variant with extremely long dense molecular chains which give the material its trademark strength and toughness.
UHMWPE is lighter than ceramic, steel, and fiberglass armor plates and is spalling and shatter resistant, it can protect from multiple impacts and it will not rust under any conditions
UHMWPE is also hydrophobic and abrasion resistant with a low friction coefficient and is resistant to many acids and solvents while still retaining its light weight and flexibility.

WHAT IS SPALLING?
Spalling (or fragmentation) in ballistic armor is when a round strikes a piece of hard armor and breaks apart sending bullet shards flying in random directions.
Spalling also describes when a piece of armor shatters on impact and pieces of the armor are driven into the wearer's body by the kinetic energy of the bullet.
Due to its extremely long molecular bonds UHMWPE distributes impact forces better than fiberglass, ceramic, or steel and is vastly more resistant to both spalling and shattering when struck by a projectile.
