NIJ Level IV Alumina Composite Concealable Body Armor
 

This vest provides concealable anti-assault rifle body armor with the high level protection of alumina in a form fitting, low profile setup that can be worn discretely under normal clothes and still protect the wearer from armor piercing rifle rounds. 

The body of the vest is made of nylon and spandex with alumina UHMWPE hard ballistic panels in front and back carrier pouches providing extreme protection without sacrificing comfort or concealability. 

 Without included plates this vest is not armored.

The vest is form fitting with multiple adjustment points and heavy duty Velcro straps to ensure a secure and comfortable fit. 

WHAT IS ALUMINA?

Alumina is aluminum oxide, an ultra hard crystalline of oxygen and aluminum used as a substitute for synthetic diamond and in high level body armor. The dense hexagonal lattice structure of oxygen and aluminum ions, when bonded into a ceramic creates an ultra-hard armor that provides maximum level protection at a fraction of the weight of steel. 

Materials like aramid and UHMWPE derive their strength from their flexibility and ability to dissipate kinetic energy along a long molecular chain, alumina defeats incoming round by sheer hardness and density. With Alumina/UHMWPE composite plates, this vest provides the protection to stop rifle rounds from penetrating, and absorb the potentially fatal impact force.

To qualify for the NIJ rating level IV a plate must be able to stop a round of .30-06 M2AP armor piercing ammunition at 2,880fps.
 

With plates rated at NIJ Level IV this armor offers the maximum ballistic protection available.
